Kick-off meeting held in Solingen, October 8th – 9th 2015
From Oct 8th to 9th the partner organisations met in Solingen/Germany for the kick-off meeting to officially establish the Erasmus+ WBT project. 14 representatives from 9 partner countries participated in the meeting.
The first day was to get to know each other and learn about the partner organisations and their interest in the topic of work-based learning and training. The different national school-to-work transition settings were discussed and the experience in work-based training methods presented. Furthermore, the final work plan and time schedule was discussed and agreed defining the responsibilities of each partner organisation.
The second day was mainly to discuss the project´s core products, namely carrying out the online survey on WBT by questioning teachers, trainers and students and the elaboration of a Manual with examples of good practice. Also, financial and organizational matters were clarified. Finally, a partner agreement was signed by all partner organisations.
The meeting was framed by a visit to the old forge factory “Gesenkschmiede Hendrichs” where scissors and cutlery were produced till the 1980s and which has now been turned into a re-known industrial museum. Also, a welcome reception at the town hall took place. The lord mayor of Solingen, Mr Feith, welcomed the group and gave a small handmade knife as a present to the visitors.
On Friday evening the group was invited to participate in a walking tour through the city of Cologne before leaving home.
